To permanently rename your mouse, connect it to a 32 bit Mac, go to system prefs / Bluetooth. If you switch computer, the mouse reverts to its old name again. You CAN rename your mouse under the 64 bit, but it seems to be only temporary. It seems that you can only do a permanent name change on a device that has 32 bit, not 64 bit processor.
