It is obvious to me that this is a deliberate policy by MS. But Win10 was more persistent and start the update *without* my consent.
And certainly I didn't consent to any upgrade and made many efforts to stop this update (I did follow the steps mentioned, but to no avail). Have you looked at Windows Update History (in Settings) to check you have indeed had a Windows update recently?I have win10 Pro. So I'm wondering if you've perhaps had an update of your audio driver - for some users that would be Realtek or similar- that's caused your problem. The latest, as you probably know, is 1803. Stop Windows 10 Updates Properly and Completely
You can stop all Windows updates: did you use this? You get what you pay for - but whether what MS offers Home users is appropriate given their record is another debate entirely. Were you to upgrade to Pro, you would have significantly more control, including setting updates to 'Notify' which means they can't be installed without the user allowing it. There's no such thing in my opinion as a forced upgrade, inasmuch as if you paid for Windows Home, you paid for updates to be delivered automatically.
